Just like a lot of the other reviews about this item...What a pain in the tail to get this to work with my system...but just have Patience and don't give up. I work for Chevrolet and have programmed many openers over my 30 years career so I kind of know what I am doing. My buddy is the garage door specialist and we could not get the stupid thing to work. The instructions supplied are a little lame so that and the fact that sharing info is how we help each other figure things out when tech support doesn't know.I have the Liftmaster 8500W opener and it does not support Homelink or Car2U, make sure you know which system you have so you get the correct repeater. Like I said the instructions are not that great but plug the responder in the wall, hit the Yellow learn button on the opener ( light turns solid) then touch the two outside buttons on your Car2U system for two seconds, release and then hold the preferred button you want to program until the garage light blinks, then release and push that button and the door should activate. Here is were the patience comes in, JUST LIKE THE OTHER REVIEWS said it finally worked and don't know why or how....it is true I worked on this at least 20 times and finally even after I was ready to send the repeater back or just throw it away, it WORKED. I did have the light blink( meaning it programmed ) but it didn't open the door. At that point I knew it was communicating and then a couple more tries and finally the button accepted the program. Like I said I know how to program GM vehicles and this was a complete tester, probably why so many bad reviews because not many want to take that many tries to make something work, can't say I blame them.Hope this helps those who have the same problem, please feel free to reach out if you have any GM questions....troymeier.comThanksSo, it works. I have a 2011 Silverado that I bought this for because my Car2U wouldn't work on my new Chamberlain opener. Here are a couple of thoughts on the installation/operation process:1. I plugged the repeater into the same outlet box that was powering my opener on the ceiling. The distance between the antenna from the repeater to the the antenna for the opener was about 2 1/2 feet. There is no pairing required of the repeater to the opener. You just plug it in and program the button on your car to your garage door opener as if you didn't have the repeater in the first place.2. Initially, I couldn't get my button inside the truck to program. I had read online on other websites that CFL bulbs might cause a frequency interference between the antenna signals, so I turned off the garage door light while programming. Still nothing. Then, I actually REMOVED the bulbs physically from the opener itself and viola...the button on the truck moved the opener within about 10-12 seconds of "searching" the frequency.3. I tested the pairing a few times between the truck and the opener and noticed that there is a 1 or 1.5 second delay from the time I press the opener in my truck to when the door actually moves. When using the factory Chamberlain remote, there was no delay at all.4. I reinstalled the CFL bulbs back into the opener once I had it programmed, and made sure the lights were on when trying to open/close the door from my truck. No issues.5. Range is decent, in comparison to the factory remote, with a little bit of a drop off (maybe less than 10 feet). I can still open the door from one house away, before I enter my driveway, which for me is about 40-50 feet away. I'm happy with that. I tried it from driving from both directions of my street and both times my garage door was fully open before I was able to put the truck into park.6. The directions that come with the repeater are practically non-existent. Just follow whatever instructions your auto manufacturer uses for the pairing of your vehicle to the opener. The repeater is just the middleman handling the transaction between Car2U and Homelink, so I guess I can't fault the lack of instructions too much.Only time will tell as to if this little contraption holds up over the long haul. While I wish I didn't have to purchase this device in the first place and auto/garage door manufacturers could get on the same page (especially being a vehicle less than 5 years old), for only $20 I am choosing to pick my battles elsewhere.OK, so I could not get it to work. I followed what little instructions there were, NOTHING worked. Then I saw reviews saying to unscrew CFL light bulbs. Well, I don't have any of those. I did have an LED bulb though. so here is how I got it to work with my MyQ LiftmasterStep 1. Unplug the opener and plug it back in to make sure you're starting from scratch and wait for any flashing lights to stop flashing as it starts upStep 2. Unscrew every dang light bulb in the garageStep 3. Put one incandescent bulb in the front of the openerStep 4. Push the 2 outside buttons on the car's opener for 2 secondsStep 5. Push the YELLOW learn on the back of the opener by the button ONCEStep 6. Within 30 seconds return to the vehicle and push the button you want until the single bulb in the front of the opener flashes. LET GOStep 7. Wait 10 seconds then hold the button for 2-3 seconds and watch your garage door close.CONGRATS!!!! you can go have a drink to celebrate. This unit doesn’t have as good of range as my old opener without the repeater. I used this on a 2019 Chamberlain B750c opener, I followed the instructions that came with the repeater and then tried to get my 2010 Yukon to program, but it wouldn’t. I researched on line and tried a couple of suggestions from there, still wouldn’t program. I went to Amazon.com and read some Reviews from there and found one that used the Learn button on the Opener control panel, Yahoo finally programmed.Mine was a bit pricey as I had to pay shipping as this wasn’t Prime. It still seems to take a while to start the opening or closing of the door.Older in car sun visor etc, remotes may not be Homelink but this older system like in older Fords etc.The Homelink repeater system will not work with the Car 2U system. This repeater does work fine.If your remote looks like this picture, 3 LEDS rather than one it is likely Car 2U.This is a very good way to connect your vehicle to your new Chamberlain Garage Door Opener. I have the model B970C now connected to a 2011 Chev 4X4. It is very easy to make the connection. Just make sure you follow the steps as per instructions in your Truck Owners manual and the instructions that came with this item. You will have no problem. It works great with very good range.Works great. My old Chamberlain door opener had vastly less range (IE you needed to be parked on the driveway, and then SOMETIMES it opened). After upgrading to a new unit that required this unit to link my 2008 GMC, the range is 1/2 block or better.this unit was very easy to install and I was quickly able to program my 2008 GM car to control the garage door opener
