Took a leap of faith with these BWTJF car seat covers (in wine red) for our new 2023 Honda Civic hatchback and am extremely pleased with the fit and finish for what is intended to be universal fit.First impressions are important, and the covers arrived packed neatly together in a zippered bag with some transparent viewing areas - it's tricky to describe in words, but easiest to visualize with this: the bag is very similar to those used for packaging mattress comforters in big box stores. The material is just thinner. Adequate for this purpose, and again, makes a nice first impression. It gives the product an air of quality/attention to detail. I have purchased other seat covers that come packaged in basic plastic bags in the box - fine by all means, but the BWTJF ones just took that one extra step which I appreciated. Through the transparent areas, you can verify the color you ordered, and also see the instruction sheet front-and-center. The instructions are printed on a thicker-than-average sheet of paper and is in color. Again, it's the little things. These car seat covers are universal fit - just wanted to state that as a reminder. As such, you have to give a bit more leeway in terms of the fit, since they are obviously meant to fit more than just one car model. That said, I have to say that the fit is more than adequate on the front seats for the 2023 Honda Civic hatchback. Install is fairly straightforward and fits tight around the seat. The look of it is sharp and consistent - no bad wrinkles or bunching up anywhere. It is stitched for a tighter fit on bolstered seats, which this Civic has, so I would keep that in mind - this may not fit as well on older cars that have more basic, less contoured seats, or more utility-geared vehicles that might not have heavily bolstered seats (e.g. trucks, small utility vans, etc.).The cover for the headrests go all the way around, but given the velcro positioning underneath, pulling it completely tight makes it look funny. Depending on your headrest, I would recommend velcroing to the end of the flap instead of pulling it as tight as possible (which I think would be most people's instinct), as the latter causes the flap's end to be loose and for the excess corners to protrude more. Better to connect to the end of the flap, then push the headrest down to compress the excess a bit.Now on to the caveat - and I say caveat, instead of con or negative, because it's not entirely on this seat cover. The Civic hatchback (Sport trim) has foldable rear bench seats, same as the sedan, but I'm going out on a limb to say that the seat design might differ from the sedan in one aspect: the hatchback's does NOT have removable headrests (I think the sedan might... or maybe it is a sweeping change for all Civic models from 2022+. Good to be aware of, in any case). Before I get into the details of why this is problematic, I'd like to bring attention to the fact that the rear bench seat covers are a bit different in design. Where the front seats are like a duffel bag that can be pulled over the seats, the rears are in 2 distinct halves (as can be seen in the product photos). These halves are technically assembled from multiple pieces, but for ease of explanation, I will simplify and refer to the one half as for the bench, and the other half as for the back support. The focus of the issue will be on the half for the back support. The bench half is good. So, the reason why the lack of removable headrests is problematic: the back support half of the seat cover has the headrest portions sewed on. These headrest portions have some stretchable straps that are meant to secure under and around the headrest. This issue would also apply to any other seat covers that have a similar design, or even those that have separate pieces in their kit for the rear bench seat headrests. Because the design 1) is connected to the rest of the seat cover instead of being independent pieces, and 2) relies on being able to wrap around the headrest, there is nowhere for the headrest flaps on either side to secure to. Again, this problem would persist even if the headrest pieces were separate, just like the front seats, but I think there would be a bit more flexibility there as I could just not use them and still have proper coverage for the bench seat's back support portion. As it stands, I have two floppy headrest covers that are attached to the seat cover. I managed to stretch the flexible banding (intended to wrap under and around a headrest) around the outer circumference of each headrest, partially securing them on. It isn't perfect, but it'll work. But if I was unable to do anything about it, it would have been a potential eyesore. The point is this: double-check the style of headrest on your rear bench seats. The design and aesthetic of the back covers are fine, but the lack of headrests can be problematic when the design sews the headrest covers to the main back support cover. So again, it is more a detriment of the car's rear bench seat design than the universal seat covers, but still something to be aware of when considering these.Overall, for what matters most to us (the front seats), these universal covers do an impressive job both for coverage of the base seats (which are cloth) and aesthetics, while fitting very securely and snug. They were packaged with care and organization, instructions were above average in quality, and the covers themselves appear well-made. Durability is yet to be determined, but I will update this review in the future if I'm able to. For now - highly recommended these.
